NetEase (hereinafter referred to as "we") solemnly promises to protect the personal information and privacy of users (hereinafter collectively referred to as "users" or "you") who use NetEase services. When you use NetEase services, we will collect and use your relevant personal information. We hope to explain the processing rules and related matters regarding the collection and use of your personal information through the "NetEase BUFF Privacy Policy" (hereinafter referred to as "this policy") to better protect your rights.

- This policy applies to the NetEase BUFF services we provide. This policy is effective simultaneously with the "NetEase Group Privacy Policy." In case of any inconsistencies between the terms of this policy and the terms of the "NetEase Group Privacy Policy," the terms of this policy shall prevail. If the terms of this policy do not mention certain matters, the provisions of the "NetEase Group Privacy Policy" shall apply. Users under the age of fourteen are also subject to the "NetEase Group Privacy Policy," "NetEase Children's Personal Information Protection Rules and Guardian Notice," this policy, and the "NetEase BUFF Children's Personal Information Protection Rules and Guardian Notice" (see attachment).
- This policy stipulates how we handle your information in different scenarios, but we will only process your information when you enable relevant features or use related services. If you do not enable relevant features or use related services, we will not process your corresponding personal information. In addition to this policy, in specific products, we will also inform you of the specific purposes, scope, and methods of information collection through pop-ups and page prompts, which constitute part of this privacy policy and have the same effect as this policy. Please pay special attention to this.
- Before using the services provided by NetEase BUFF, please read and thoroughly understand this policy, especially the terms marked in bold/bold underline. You should focus on reading these terms and only start using the services after confirming that you fully understand and agree. If you do not agree with the content of this policy, it may result in the inability to use NetEase services normally or achieve the intended service effect, and you should immediately stop accessing/using NetEase services.

1. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information
(1) We will collect and obtain your personal information through the following means:
- Information you provide actively:
- The information you provide when registering an account for NetEase products or using NetEase services;
- The information stored when you use NetEase services.
Please note that if you disclose your information in publicly visible areas of NetEase products, such information may be collected and used by others. If you find that others are improperly collecting or using your information, you can contact us through the feedback channels listed in the "How to Contact Us" section of this policy.
- Information legally shared by third parties.
- Information about your usage that we legally obtain during the process of providing services, such as the information we collect, aggregate, and record when you use NetEase services.
(2) We will collect and use your personal information for the following purposes:
- Help you complete registration and login:
To provide you with continuous and stable services and ensure the security of your use of NetEase products, we need you to provide basic registration or login information, including your phone number, email address, and create your account, username, and password. If you only need to use basic features like browsing, you do not need to register or provide the above information.
In accordance with relevant laws and regulations, after you register an account, we need you to provide real identity information, including your name, valid identification (such as ID card, passport, driver's license, household registration book), and a photo. If you do not provide the above real identity information or provide false information, you will not be able to log into NetEase products, enjoy related services, or may face corresponding restrictions during your use of NetEase products. We will not be able to provide you with related services or impose corresponding restrictions on your actions. To achieve real-name authentication, you agree and authorize us to provide, query, and verify your aforementioned identity information with relevant real-name authentication institutions (national relevant authorities, public security departments, or other institutions entrusted/cooperating with them).
You can also log into NetEase products using accounts from third-party platforms recognized by NetEase. When you log into NetEase products using a mobile account or an account from a third-party platform recognized by NetEase, we will obtain relevant information under that account (including: username, nickname, avatar, unique identifier, and friend relationships or other authorized information) based on your authorization to help you complete registration, login, and achieve a better experience.
- Provide basic product functions and maintain network and operational
security:
During your use of our services, to provide you with basic functions, identify abnormal account statuses, understand and improve product compatibility, and ensure the network and operational security of NetEase services, we will collect and store device information, log information, account information, transaction information, and information obtained from our affiliated companies and partners with your authorization or shared by law. We will associate this information to comprehensively assess your account and transaction risks, perform identity verification, detect and prevent security incidents, and take necessary recording, auditing, analysis, and disposal measures as required by law.
- When you use our services, we will collect your log information: login logs, item logs, operation information, friend information and interaction records, login account and ID, search query content, IP address, browser type, telecom operator, network environment, language used, access date and time, and your webpage browsing records, push open records, duration of stay, refresh records, publishing records, following, subscribing, favoriting, and sharing.
- To ensure your normal use of our services, maintain the normal operation of basic product functions, enhance product experience, and ensure account security, we will receive and record the device information you use: device name, device model, operating system and version, client version, device resolution, package name, device settings, device identifiers (MAC/IMEI/Android ID/IDFA/OpenUDID/GUID/SIM card serial number/IMSI/OAID/VAID/AAID/GAID), Wi-Fi access point name (SSID), hardware and software feature information, and IP address. To collect the above basic personal device information, we will request permission to access your device information in necessary scenarios.
- To ensure account security, identify and prevent malicious programs, and create a fair, healthy, and safe environment, we will collect your device identifier information, product identification information, hardware and operating system information, installed application list, application processes, and product crash records during your use of the service, to combat behaviors that disrupt the product environment or interfere with the normal operation of product services (used for detecting piracy, scanning cheating programs or software, and preventing cheating).
- To provide you with location-based services (such as regional rankings, nearby friends, and nearby team-up features), we will collect your geographic location information (including nearby Wi-Fi and nearby base station ID, i.e., CellID). Geographic location information is considered sensitive personal information; refusing to provide this information will only prevent you from using location-based services but will not affect your normal use of other product functions.
Please note that separate device information and log information cannot identify specific individuals. If we combine such information with other information to identify specific individuals or use it in conjunction with personal information, during the combined use, such information will be treated as personal information. We will anonymize and de-identify such personal information, except as authorized by you or as otherwise provided by laws and regulations. Such information will be processed and protected as your personal information according to this policy during the combined use.
- Provide interaction, publishing, information push, product/service marketing
promotion, and satisfaction survey services:
- When you use NetEase services, upload and/or publish information, and engage in related interactive behaviors (speaking, commenting, sharing, favoriting, tipping ), we will collect the information you upload, publish, or generate, and use your nickname, avatar, ID, and published content for display.
- Please note that if the information you publicly publish contains your personal information or sensitive personal information, such information may be collected and used by others. You should carefully consider before publishing. If the information you publish involves others' personal information, you should obtain their consent before publishing. If you find that others are improperly collecting or using your information, you can contact us through the feedback channels listed in the "How to Contact Us" section of this policy.
- If you copy information within the product to share or receive shared information within the product, participate in related activities, we need to access your clipboard to read the sharing code, password, link, redemption code, and other related information to enable sharing information, obtaining benefits, and participating in activities. Your clipboard information will only be processed on your device, and we will only read information related to our services to complete relevant instructions without storing your clipboard information. We will not collect other unrelated information from your clipboard without further notice and your consent.
- To timely provide you with updates on products and services, we will push hot content, activity notifications, and progress to you through your device's system notifications. To ensure the timeliness of message pushing, the product will remain active in the background, and you can choose to turn off the message push function in your device settings. When you use NetEase services on Android devices, we integrate message push SDKs to achieve instant message push functionality. To ensure the stability, reach rate, and timeliness of in-app message pushing, the app may perform necessary auto-start or associate with other applications based on the brand and system version of your device.
- When you participate in marketing promotions and satisfaction survey activities within the product, we will collect one or more of the following information based on the type and purpose of the survey, provided you voluntarily fill it out: your name, gender, age, occupation, mailing address, contact information, and other information you voluntarily provide. Specific details can be found in the separate instructions on the activity page and the content of the questionnaire you receive.
- We will send commercial information to your legally collected electronic mail, mobile phone number, Yixin, WeChat, and other third-party social accounts for the purpose of product/service marketing promotion, either directly or by entrusting a third party.
- Help you complete orders, payments, and deliveries of goods or
services:
- When you order specific goods and/or services or recharge within NetEase services, to display your transaction information and ensure transaction security, we will generate an order for the purchase of the goods and/or services through the system, collecting your specific order number, order creation time, and transaction amount information for display and to facilitate your transaction management. In the ordering process, if it involves physical goods, we also need you to provide the recipient's name, delivery address, and contact number to deliver the goods to you.
- To complete order payments, deliver goods or services, confirm transaction status, and provide you with after-sales and dispute resolution services, we will collect your account, order, transaction, and logistics information related to the transaction progress through the trading parties, payment institutions, and logistics companies you choose based on the transaction. Recharge records and consumption records are considered sensitive personal information, and collecting such information is necessary to achieve consumption functionality; otherwise, the transaction cannot be completed.
- Provide customer service or other user response functions:
When you contact our customer service or use other user response functions (personal information protection complaints or suggestions, other customer complaints and needs), we need you to provide necessary personal information to match and verify your user identity to ensure the security of your account and system. To address your requests, customer service representatives may need to query or verify your relevant information within the scope of your authorization and use it only as necessary. If you refuse to provide or provide incorrect information, we will not be able to provide you with corresponding support. After confirming your user identity, we will also retain your contact information (the contact information you used to reach us or other contact information you voluntarily provided), your communication/call records and content with us, and other necessary information related to your needs to contact you or help you resolve issues, or to record the handling plan and results of related issues.
